"Our non-profit organization had been functioning with the same core Board of Directors and the same small corps of volunteers for years. Two recently added board members decided to attend the roundtable discussion at the Danbury Volunteer Center. They learned so much, listening to members of other boards and Patti Cohen-Hecht, the moderator, that the two board members returned to their next board meeting with a fresh sense of purpose and new ideas to help bring their organization to the next level in their mission. A workshop on how to be a better board member was equally helpful."
Betsy Delaney, Vice-President, Dream Come True of Western Ct

Nonprofits

Nonprofits can benefit from the comprehensive services of The Volunteer Center serving Western Connecticut. We provide a single point of contact to recruit volunteers, including board members, for your organization. We also provide volunteer management training, workshops and networking opportunities for your professional staff and board members.

Volunteers can assist your professional staff with general administrative duties or support the work of your special events. Volunteers can also help with your infrastructure in areas such as finances, public relations and technology or as Board Members governing your organization.

We maintain a Nonprofit Wish List for physical items needed either for your organization or clients.

We work with our nonprofit partners to ensure that community volunteers have meaningful experiences and continue to volunteer, making volunteerism a significant part of our caring community.

"The Regional YMCA of Western CT has been fortunate to receive several volunteers from the Volunteer Center through the years. They have assisted us with such tasks as special events and mailings. The volunteers have always been cooperative, dependable and flexible."
Sandi Lubin, VP Regional YMCA

"The Volunteer Center is a very good resource for DAWS. We are able to connect with many caring and motivated volunteers through their online resources center. The staff is very willing to help us secure much needed goods and services. Many thanks for the fine partnership."
Cheryl Rykowski, DAWS Volunteer Coordinator
